Sanctuary maintains a controlled environment so no matter what your climate, you can enjoy a bit of easy care nature indoors. Here are a few tips to help you get things started.

Sanctuary Silicon

Setting Up

  1. Collect your piece of beautiful moss.
  2. Cut it or gently break apart to fit the base, approximately 7cm diameter.. Some overhang is fine.
  3. Place it over the base and gently tuck in the edges.
  4. Mist the moss to lush it up (You can add a splash of water in the base if the moss is dry).
  5. Place the lid.
  6. Manage the environment further by opening side ventilation when necessary.

Additional Tips

  • Condensation is normal and part of the natural process of the closed mossarium.
  • Spritz weekly or as required. You can gently press down on the moss to feel how much water it is holding too.
  • If you think the moss is too wet or rotting, open the vents and give some indirect sunlight. Water less.
  • Moss does well with dappled or indirect sunlight and ventilation. Be sure to lift the lid regularly to check on moisture levels and allow the terrarium gasses to balance

  • Your Concrete Sanctuary will absorb more water than the other materials available so keep an eye on it and spray regularly. The advantage of concrete is that it keeps the moss very cool, like a temperate rainforest and absorbs a bit of water in the concrete too. Sanctuary cork pad will protect your tabletop.
